I've always liked science and teaching. I have a doctorate degree in microbiology and researched the molecular biology of cancer and diabetes for 20 years, but my first job was teaching gymnastics. I've been a high school science teacher since 2014.
Geometry and Precalculus
This is my fourteenth year at Nathan Hale. This year I am teaching Geometry and Precalculus. I attended Stanford University and earned a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering. While working for my for first few years after graduate school as an engineer, I found that I was spending much of my free time volunteering with youth. I figured that since I really enjoyed working with youth, I might as well get a job doing it full time. I love teaching math at Nathan Hale. I am happy to help students any day at lunch or after school. In my life away from Nathan Hale I enjoy spending time with my wife and two sons, biking, swimming, hiking and reading.
