Nathan Hale High School Family Information Nights

We invite and encourage families who will be assigned to NHHS next year to attend our information evening in order to get a head start on transition to high school. We also welcome families who are assigned to another school but are interested in NHHS and are considering going through the Open Enrollment process which is January 5-31, 2026.

Future and prospective parents/guardians and students are invited to join us for the following informational evenings.

December 10, 2025

• Wednesday, December 10, 2025 from 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m.
  • From 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
    • Information Tables and Tours in Commons (last tour leaves Commons at 6:05 p.m.)
  • From 6:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
    • Presentation by Principal Grimes and Questions in Performing Arts Center

January 14, 2026

Open Enrollment for School Choice at SPS

Every Seattle Public Schools (SPS) student is assigned to their attendance area school based on where they live. Families can also apply to request that their student attend a different school through the Open Enrollment for School Choice process.

• Jan. 5, 2026: New student enrollment for 2026-27 school year begins.
• Jan. 5-31, 2026: School Choice Application Window
  • Families can apply to request that their student attend a different school through the Open Enrollment for School Choice process. 
• Jan. 10, 2026: SPS Enrollment Fair from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the John Stanford Center.
  • All schools, including attendance area and option schools are encouraged to join. We hope you participate to show off your incredible staff, students, programs!  
• Jan. 31, 2026: The SPS Registration Fair will be held at the John Stanford Center, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Get hands-on help with enrollment and school choice applications.
• Feb. 24, 2026: School Choice Results 
  • School Choice results will be posted on the district website. Families can view their student’s lottery outcome online or their position on a waitlist. 
• Week of March 2, 2026:  Assignment Notifications
  • Assignment letters will be mailed and emailed to families who received a new school assignment through the lottery process. 
•  May 31, 2026: Waitlist Closure
  • All waitlists for the School Year 2026-27 will dissolve at the end of May 2026. 
• June 1 – Aug. 31, 2026: Non-resident applications will be accepted.
