Friday 6/9 Message to Families

Message to Families

Beloved Community,

Congratulations and kudos to NHHS music for a fabulous, student-musician-centered concert last night. Wow! Musicians introduced pieces, conducted, composed pieces that were performed, shined in solos, and performed amazing ensemble pieces. Best of all, the musicians were having fun as they played and sang challenging music. Thank you NHHS musicians, Ms. Sibicky and Ms. Milanese. Appreciation also goes to the Music Boosters who have worked hard thought the year to support music at Nathan Hale.

A second chance to celebrate music at NHHS: If you are looking for live music & fun tonight, swing dancing to music by our musicians will be happening in the Commons at 7pm. All are invited!

On behalf of the Class of 2023, many thanks to the parents and guardians who so generously provided snacks and chaperones for Prom. The refreshment tables looked amazing. We are very grateful for the support of our families. There are several more year end opportunities coming up to volunteer. See details below.

Featured Volunteer Opportunities

We still have spots open on our judges’ panels for the 10th grade mock trials June 27th -29th. For options of trial dates to choose from, and for more information, see RSVP form. This is an exciting opportunity to be in classrooms, engaged in the work our tenth graders are doing.

Graduation Reception Tuesday June 27th 4:00 – 8:00

Set up starting at 4:00pm, cut cake, plate and put out fruit and cookies, get drinks ready, serve cake and drinks, clean up. Sign up to work all or part of the event or email Katie Fleming nhcoconnections@gmail.com.

Senior SPREE

SPREE is looking for a 9th, 10th or 11th grade parent/parents to attend the all-night graduation party after the ceremony and reception on Tuesday, June 27th to photograph the event. This is a great chance to get a sneak preview of what SPREE is like when your student becomes a senior, and a fun way to support the launching of 2023 into the world. No need to be a trained photographer – the mission is to capture the evening for grads so they have photos of the event. Please contact NHSPREE23@gmail.com to volunteer.

Teen Health Center Sports Physicals

Sports physicals for fall sports are available in the NHHS Teen Health Center. Students should sign up now; space will be limited come Fall.

For Seniors

Graduating seniors with plans to attend 2-year and 4-year universities in the fall: Final transcripts will be ready sometime during the week of July 17th. Check your college’s deadline to receive your final high school transcript. If it is before July 17th, students should contact them immediately to let them know final transcripts will be slightly delayed due to the strike this past September. (UW has a deadline of July 15th; they have already been notified of SPS transcript delay.)

Summer Skills Center

Check out the summer offerings at the SPS Summer Skills Center. Courses include Culinary Arts, Engineering, Maritime, Aerospace and Maritime Manufacturing, Video Game Design, Multimedia Broadcasting and more! High school credit is earned by taking and completing the summer courses.
