Friday 6/5 Family Message: Senior Final Countdown
Summary: Family Message June 5, 2026.
June 5 Family Message
Happy Friday,
The morning started out with a sweet surprise from the JAMS PTSA. NH Staff enjoyed sweet treats and donuts filled with the best chocolate and fillings from Zylberschtein’s Delicatessen & Bakery off 15th. The kind and thoughtful gesture was exactly what staff needed this week. Being in community, a strong pathway for students and families, is a BIG priority.
The Spring Sports Dessert night on Tuesday was heartfelt as two of our long-standing coaches are hanging it up and retiring at the end of this school year. Both Coach Comiskey, NH Fast Pitch coach, and Coach Bosley, NH Baseball coach, will be dearly missed. They have created something special here at Hale. Two big shoes that will now need to be filled.
Wednesday, we held our New Family Night for incoming 9th graders. It was well attended and nice to welcome and meet new students and families into our Nathan Hale school community and share dinner together. Thank you to NHCO for bringing the pasta dinner for all to share.
Senior Check-out
Seniors started their final steps towards graduation with the senior checkout process kicking off on Tuesday. Seniors should be checking their school email for information regarding end of the year academic tasks and graduation details. NHHS Graduation is on Wednesday, June 10th. We look forward to this special day where our Class of 2026 honorable, skillful, thinking, global students earn their high school diploma for meeting the SPS 24 credit graduation requirements.

Finals for Grades 9-11
Fourth Quarter Finals start next week on Friday. Please see the schedule on our website and help make sure your students are prepared for their finals. I highly encourage students to utilize the tutorial time for support. Studying this weekend can help decrease student anxiousness and help them be prepared.
Athletics
If your student plans to participate in NH athletics next year, spring grades count. We strongly encourage you to select that sport now in Final Forms. Click on the blue box, “Click to Switch to 2026-27 Registration.” This will ensure that you are in the loop for communications from the team and the Athletic Department. I highly encourage parents and guardians to ensure that your students’ sports physicals are current and/or not about to expire. Schedule your appointments now so your student is ready to participate in Fall Sports. If you need support or have questions regarding NH athletics please do not hesitate to contact our athletic director, Darby Haskins or athletic secretary, Courtney Clark.
Athletic uniforms/equipment: These should have been turned in at the end of the season to coaches. Unreturned items will result in fines for your student. Turn in PE Waivers for spring sports to the main office.
