Friday 5/5 Message to Families

Friday 5/5 Message to Families

Beloved Community,

May is Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month! This year, students from our Coalition of Asian and Pacific Students will be working with educators to co-design lessons that center the Asian and Pacific experience. Additionally, students are planning on decorating the library in celebration of API Heritage Month including installing 1000 paper cranes. Folding 1000 paper cranes is said to grant a wish, and is often used to wish for peace, victory, or healing. Read more about API Heritage month.

Hello, Dolly! from Nathan Hale Theatre

Greetings Nathan Hale theatre enthusiasts and friends! After a fabulous opening night performance last night, we are thrilled to invite you to see our spring musical Hello, Dolly! It’s a joyful, musical celebration of life and an invitation to join the parade — say “hello” to love, to friendship, to adventure! Buy tickets and get more information about Hello Dolly at the Nathan Hale Theatre.

Here’s a snippet from a press performance review: “Hale’s Spring musical is a delight from start to finish, with stand-out performances from the spectacular leads, and an ensemble that brings Yonkers and New York City to life with lovably quirky characters. These performers are having so much fun, and there is truly nothing more joyful than watching kids having fun doing something they love.”

Remaining performances are this weekend (tonight May 5, and Saturday May 6), and next weekend May 12 and 13 at 7:00pm, and a matinee May 13 at 2:00pm. (The matinee will be a sensory-friendly performance, designed for people for whom theatre is not typically accessible.)
