Friday 3/15 Message to Families

Beloved Families,

What a joy it was for so many students and families to come together this past Wednesday night at the Bite of Hale! It was the second one since COVID shut down this long-standing tradition at Nathan Hale. There were over 40 tables serving foods representing the different cultures at Nathan Hale. Attendees were able to enjoy student and staff performances on the Commons stage over the course of the evening! Also performing were the exchange students visiting from Naha High School in Okinawa, Japan. We are grateful to our student leaders who coordinated this event and especially to leadership teachers Mr. Swarts and Mr. Renouard. Thanks as well to the many staff and parents and friends who contributed food for this event!

I want to share my appreciation to you in all your support for our school and community safety. Though school and community safety challenges are hard for our educators, families, and community, it always brings us closer together through the trust we build in the process of ensuring school safety. Please remember in addition to reporting concerns to our school staff, our families and students may use the SPS Safe Schools Hotline 206-252-0510 to report any threats to SPS schools. This phone number is managed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Ramadan Mubarak! Ramadan is a worldwide celebration and experience, a time to deepen the connection with God and with family and friends. Ramadan is a time in which all Muslims practice self-restraint, forgiveness, humility, and empathy. Ramadan brings together diverse communities of people around the world, as well as within our school community.
