Thursday 2/6 Family Message
Summary : Inclement weather and remote learning day information.
Thursday 2/6 Family Message
Good morning, Nathan Hale Families:
Due to the inclement weather conditions, Seattle Public Schools has called a remote learning day. All instructional learning will happen via classroom Teams. Students should use their district issued devices for best connectivity. We look forward to seeing students sign in and engage in their class.
What that means for students today.
We will use a regular Thursday bell schedule as shared on our Nathan Hale website. Please help your student follow this schedule throughout today. Each class is 55 minutes with a regular 30-minute lunch time. School will release at 3:40 pm. Teachers will be taking period attendance. If your student will be absent, please follow our attendance reporting guidelines and excuse your student accordingly.
- 1st period 8:50-9:45
- 2nd period 9:50-10:45
- 3rd period 10:50-12:05
- Lunch 12:10-12:40
- 4th period 12:45-1:40
- 5th period 1:45-2:40
- 6th period 2:45-3:40
Academic Time (Periods 1 – 6):
Academic time will be delivered via Classroom Teams again. Staff have shared their classroom teams with students. If your student is struggling to connect with their teacher, please have them email their teacher directly and/or try to contact with them via Teams. NHHS support staff and school administration are available to support throughout the day. Please use our NHHS website for staff contact information.

School facilities – The building is closed. All staff are working remotely. Please stay off campus for your safety.
Remote learning tip: Students should find their most comfortable space for learning today. Stay hydrated, engage the best they can, take the appropriate breaks, and communicate with their teachers for success. As mentioned in our school CSIP, our focus for this school year is to create positive learning experiences and spaces for students and increase communication with families.
Have a great day. Good luck in advance for pivoting and making day two of remote learning a success. Please utilize our NHHS support staff and school administration for guidance throughout today. Staff are not available during their 30-minute duty-free lunch time (12:10 p.m. – 12:40 p.m.) unless they communicate something different. I encourage families to continue to monitor communication from SPS regarding inclement weather. Enjoy the snow and stay warm.
In Partnership,
Ms. Jolene Grimes Edwards
Proud Principal
