Friday 12/17 Message to Families

I hope you had a great week and are excited for our upcoming holiday vacation! I want to share my appreciation for our educators who have gone above and beyond to create positive learning experiences for all of our students. I also am appreciative of our families for your patience, commitment to NHHS, and for the wonderful treats you contributed to the staff appreciation breakfast this week. Many thanks from staff to the NHCO for organizing the breakfast!

I hope you all have a relaxing break and come back refreshed in January to continue to strengthen our school community. Have a great break!

Spring Musical 2022 Signups – From Nathan Hale Theatre

As we return to our beloved Performance Arts Center, it seems fitting that we put some magic on that stage! Come be a part of the story of Pippin (by Stephen Schwartz, composer and lyricist for shows like Godspell and Wicked to name a couple), telling the journey of a young prince trying to find his purpose in the world directed by a mysterious character known as the Leading Player. Who can be trusted? What is right? Which path will he choose; which will YOU choose? All are welcome. No previous experience required. Sign up on our website Sign up by January 3rd! Check out our Insta @nathan_hale_theatre.

Nathan Hale Blood Drive and Message from Senior Class

For the past two years, many hospitals have run extremely low on blood. Blood is perishable and cannot be stockpiled, and doctors sometimes need hundreds of blood products to save a trauma patient’s life. Hale last year did not have as big a turn out for the blood drive as previous years due to the pandemic.

We usually are a big help to hospitals in need, so this January Nathan Hale is hosting a two-week drive with Bloodworks NW. We are hoping more people sign up to donate blood in order to help save lives. This is also a fundraiser for the Class of 2022 supporting important student events like our Senior Prom. Since quarantine disrupted our Sophomore and Junior year fundraising, we have not been able to raise much money until now, with your help.

All you need to do: Make an appointment in the time frame of January 2nd – 16th at any Bloodworks location. To make an appointment, visit or call 800.398.7888. On the day of your donation, give the four digit Hale code, 867B, to the registrar, or mention Nathan Hale Senior Class Leadership. Bring your completed liability waiver, your consent form if you are a minor that is 16 or over, and personal ID.

Thank you so much for your support!

Family Works Resource Center

The Family Works Resource Center located at Nathan Hale on Wednesday afternoons will be closed during winter break. Family works will be back in January on Wednesday afternoons from 1:30-4:00pm helping families with rental and utility assistance, clothes, shoes, and more.

Save the Date!

Our “Hale Yes” evening of connecting and fundraising for NHHS is back! We are on for Saturday, April 30th at the Center for Urban Horticulture. The Nathan Hale Foundation will share more information in January, including the opportunity this year for families with businesses to sponsor the evening. More details to come.

Thursday, January 27th

Another note for your new 2022 calendar is the addition to the SPS calendar of Thursday, January 27th as a school day for students. It is now the make-up day for closed schools on Friday, November 12th. Students will now be in school on January 27th.

We wish you and your family a happy new year!

With love,
