The 10th grade will be sitting for the Smarter Balanced English/Language Arts test next week, 4/24 - 26.  The Smarter Balanced test is a requirement for graduation. This year we are testing in the Library all day Wednesday, Thursday and Friday starting at 8:45.  The testing schedule is determined by which Humanities teacher the student has.  Students who have Mr. Heald  or Ms. Charlton for Humanities will test on Wednesday.  Students who have Ms. McKittrick or Mr. Uhlman will test on Thursday. Students  who have Ms. Volkman or Mr.  Greenway will test on Friday.

The test is designed to take 4 hours. Students who are unable to finish on their test day will finish the next day. Students testing on Friday will be scheduled to finish the following week. Absences for testing are excused. Students who are disruptive or not actively engaged in testing will be dismissed. The next testing opportunity is in November.

Encourage your student to get a good night's sleep, have breakfast, and be on time. Contact the testing coordinator, Melinda Greene, msgreene@seattleschools.org, if you have any questions.
