    Senior Bulletin #1
    Posted on 03/14/2021

This Senior Bulletin was emailed out to all our senior families on Monday, 3/8. If you didn't receive this bulletin, please email nathanhale@seattleschools.org to ensure we have your correct email address.

This is the first of several bulletins for the Class of 2021 and their families. Please know that as soon as more information becomes available to us in terms of graduation and other senior activities, we will share it with you. There are several fun things in the works – stay tuned for dates and details.

    Service Learning
The 60 hours service learning graduation requirement for Grade 12, Class of 2021 has been waived by the Seattle School Board. If seniors have not accumulated 60 hours of volunteer service work by the graduation deadline, they will still be able to graduate. Seniors may have service learning forms that have not been turned in. We are happy to take the forms during our Wednesday distribution days from 1:00 - 4:00pm at the main entry and will process them in order to recognize the hours seniors have completed.

Grad Ads – deadline for submitting is Wednesday, March 24th
Placing an order for a Yearbook Grad Ad is a fun way to give your senior a gift worth remembering. A Yearbook Grad Ad is made up of photos and messages you would like to honor your graduate with. Yearbook Grad Ads are now available to purchase until Wednesday, March 24th. Space is limited, so follow the instructions below to secure yours! Thank you for your support of the yearbook! Please direct your questions to yearbooknathanhale@gmail.com.

    Caps and Gowns
If you have not yet ordered a cap and gown for your senior, now is a great time go to www.jostens.com.

Families have been asking about seniors using a sibling’s or friend’s cap and gown from a previous year. There are two things to be aware of if you have a cap and gown from a previous year. There may be slight color differences in the blue gowns from year to year which is fine and, you will want to order the stole and tassel for this graduating year. Families can go online to order 3 items separately if they need to. This is the direct link to ordering the tassel and stole only. The pricing on the link is with tax included: https://jostenspnw.typeform.com/to/PrWAkp5P. If you prefer to make the order over the phone, call  Alysa Harris, Jostens Office Manager at 360-653-9102.

Nathan Hale Honor Society College Workshops
Are you feeling overwhelmed with the thought of applying to college? Join us for a workshop series that will explore everything from your first steps to turning in your applications! Every Wednesday at 2:00pm in March we will be discussing a different step in the process, Zoom in here to start your college journey! Visit the NHS website or view this flyer to see what topics will be covered each week.

    Fines and How to Avoid
Bring unreturned text books, library books, materials and sports uniforms to the main entry on Wednesdays from 1:00 - 4:00pm. Now is an excellent time to return materials in order to avoid fines.

There will be more information to come for seniors and their families.
