    Friday, 9/18 Message to Families
    Posted on 09/18/2020

    Beloved Community,

We did it! We survived the first week of instruction in our remote classrooms.  We continue to work through technical issues as well as new challenges as we set expectations and norms in our new classrooms. Some great moments this week include student representation in enrichment time. Our Pride Club, Coalition of Asian Pacific Students, Black Student Union, and our Girls in the Arts clubs all met this week during our enrichment time to connect and build community. Please follow the bulletin for connection and relationship building during our lunch enrichment time. We look forward  to more students getting involved in the weeks to come.

The Bulletin returns! We will begin sharing information about schoolwide activities, clubs, events, and upcoming academic learning through our school Bulletin which will be sent every Thursday.  We hope to return to a daily bulletin in the future but for now, the bulletin will be sent weekly. We encourage students to read the bulletin on our Nathan Hale website or on their Library Schoology page where it will be posted. We also encourage students to read the Friday message on our website. We anticipate the future ability to send the Bulletin and the Friday Message directly to students via their seattleschools.org email but until that technology is in place, we ask that students make a habit of checking the bulletin and the Friday message to stay in the know.

    Advancing Racial Equity
The Nathan Hale Racial Equity Team is made up of students, staff, parents, and community membersfocusing on multiple issues involving student voice, racial equity in building and in our remote learning, while developing our equity literacy. We are evolving as we navigate the online environment. Info will continue to emerge while we learn the needs of our students, community and staff. We intend to keep you informed on our readings, materials, and events that students and staff create to advance racial equity in our community.
