    Posted on 05/07/2021

    Beloved Community,

I hope you had a great start to May! With the close of Teacher Appreciation Week, I want to mention my appreciation for all of our Nathan Hale educators in the work they have done to create a warm and welcome environment both in-person and remote during this school year. Our thanks to the families who have sent in cookies, flowers and cards. We appreciate your support!

May is Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

Join us in celebrating the rich heritage of Asians, Pacific Islanders, and API Americans. You can read more about API Heritage month here: https://asianpacificheritage.gov/.

We are excited to announce the 1st Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Assembly on Wednesday, May 26th during Mentorship, hosted by the Nathan Hale Coalition of Asian and Pacific Students (CAPS club). We will be exploring the theme of “Resilience – Surviving – Thriving”. We look forward to sharing the diversity, cultural knowledge, history, and practices which have sustained and grown our communities for centuries.

Additionally, the Coalition of Asian and Pacific Students is hosting their second annual fundraiser. We are selling stickers designed by CAPS members Salta and Olivia! We appreciate your support! Place an order here: CAPS Fundraiser Order Form

We are not in charge of any aspect of the graduation so are waiting for the answers to questions we all have. We hope to have answers from SPS soon. When we do, we will share them with families of seniors.

    Nathan Hale Community Organization (NHCO)

Parents and guardians, you are invited to come and check out the Nathan Hale Community Organization. The NHCO promotes community connections and we roll our sleeves up when needs arise. We host and provide hospitality for staff appreciation, graduation, and other school events. In other words, we get to do the fun stuff! We also try to be available and provide support when special needs arise in the community.

To function, we require four team members; a leader (President), a helper (VP), Treasurer and Secretary. The current team has students graduating so we are in need of new faces. We are also looking to welcome interested parents and guardians who may not be interested in an office but want to join in. This is a great way to get to know other parents and guardians in our school community. Let's get together, re-introduce ourselves and get excited for next year! Come join us!

Wednesday May 12th 7:00PM Nathan Hale Staff/Visitor parking lot (bring a chair!) and/or Thursday May 13th 6:00 - 8:00PM Growler Guys on Lake City Way. Email nhcoconnections@gmail.com if you have any questions or comments, or are considering joining us for either of these dates.

    Nathan Hale Theatre Spring Musical

What if life were a mixtape?

Nathan Hale Theatre presents our musical review "The Night of Your Life: The Mixtape" featuring songs from a wide range of musicals.

Celebrate the incredible talents of our Nathan Hale Theatre students in this star-studded production. Come witness the magic of their performances and be inspired, because when you’re with us, you realize we’re not among the stars….we ARE the stars.

Walk with us through the journey of our lives experiencing all the wonderful changes each phase in life brings: childhood and its wonder and dreams, adolescence and its romance and identity exploration, adulthood and its commitments and path-finding, and old age and its reminiscence and fulfillment.

Transitions are part of life. So, join us as we flip the tape over and keep on listening.
