This information is for families of seniors and may be of interest to families of juniors as a preview of what is up ahead in the senior year and to be aware of upcoming college visits as often juniors attend college visits.
We encourage families to explore universities, colleges and technical schools online to get information and take virtual tours. We also remind families of seniors that now is the time to complete and send financial aid applications. See details below.
OVERVIEW OF FINANCIAL AID
Completing the Free Application for Financial Student Aid (FAFSA) or Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA) is the first step in accessing college financial aid. The FAFSA and WASFA open every year on October 1st. See attached Financial Aid Document for details.
FINANCIAL AID EVENTS
Seattle Public Schools would like to invite all seniors and their parents/guardians to attend one of the many financial aid events taking place this fall. Experts will be on hand to offer support with completing the financial aid forms required to access money for college. See attached Financial Aid flyer for dates, details of events and registration link to sign up for a session. There are still several event dates left – don’t miss out on this valuable information.
