    WORLD LANGUAGE COMPETENCY-BASED CREDITS. If you are a student who can read, write, speak, and listen in another language… This announcement is for you! We are getting ready to test students here at Nathan Hale, please come to Ms. Tobon’s classroom, 2106 at lunch time today or tomorrow to make sure that you are registered to test at the end of the month.

    INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY: The 5th Avenue Theatre has an annual program called Rising Star Project that puts on a complete production with High School students. The students work along with professionals to produce musicals from start to finish. This is great for students if you have a Drama program but no experience is required so any student could be involved. Go to The deadline is November 19. See Ms. Jamieson for more information.

    SERVICE LEARNING AT THE NORTHEAST BRANCH OF THE SEATTLE PUBLIC LIBRARY is a great way for you to help your community, develop skills for jobs and college, and earn service learning hours for high school. You will learn about community needs and work on service projects with other teens. Check the blue notebook in the Counseling office for more details.

    COLLEGE VISITS TO HALE. The following college is visiting Hale: Whitworth College is coming Tuesday November 13th, during Support at 1:55PM and the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising will be here on Thursday November 15th during Mentorship at 10:20AM. Sign up in the Counseling Office to get a pass to meet with the college rep and find out what these colleges have to offer.

    BRRR, IT’S GETTING COLD OUTSIDE. FCCLA is collecting items to give to people who are experiencing homelessness. Some unopened items you could bring in are: socks, gloves, hats or any personal care items. The comfort kit drive is happening until December 12th and donation boxes are located in the main ad attendance offices. Thank you!

    THANKSGIVING SOCK DRIVE: Please bring unopened socks to your mentorship on Wednesdays and Thursdays or put in the box in the main office for a prize. The drive ends November 16th, and all donated socks will go to homeless shelters across Seattle.

    2018 RISING SEAs is a FREE one-day conference, Saturday, November 17, 2018 on the UW-Seattle Campus. The conference is organized by the Southeast Asian American Education Coalition (SEAeD) in collaboration with local, state, and national partners. The purpose of 2018 Rising SEAs is to civically engage, culturally empower, and educationally invest in the long-term development of underrepresented Southeast Asian American communities. Registration is open to 8th-11th grade students in Washington state. Transportation details will be announced as the date approaches.
